Possibly....I don't really know what to think since seeing avatar...I loved that film and enjoyed every second of it, the 3D really added something to it as well in terms of the experience...I think 3D might now be becoming more acceptable for major blockbusters, animations and special effects laden action films but I think it will never become the standard format for films, because it is isnt always appropriate for all genre's and because it going to be far too expensive for low budget and indie film makers for a long long time...I might consider writing a follow up post soon but at the moment I can't edit much on this blog as it's being marked as part of a uni assessment

It is possible given the examples of the great people you profiled. The problem is deciding what to do and then getting it geared up so that you have enough income to support yourself and your travels.

It is possible, but like anything else, you've got to be diligent and persistent.

Hi Nick. The caption problem seems to be browser-related. They show up fine in Firefox - though this one now seems to be appearing in Safari too. But the padding seems to be wrong in the Safari captions.

I have added the default wp-caption style to the css - it's in a section that starts *captions*, if you want to tweak it...

My feelings are that 3D will never be able to escape it's gimmick factor, and in every example of it that I've seen the director has felt the need to have shots with object flying towards the viewer to make use of the 3D effect and it always feels crow-barred in.

3D can be fine in cheap entertainment, like My Bloody Valentine 3D but I doubt as to whether it can ever be used in any film with a serious artistic message.

I'll go into all this in more detail when I get around to writing this post properly, this was actually just a test post I stuck up when fiddling around with the site earlier and wasn't really meant to read yet

If 3D is used in the right way, it will certainly catch on (in fact, I believe it already has caught on). I saw Up in 3D, and the depth added to the picture made the visuals even more stunning.
